Dismantling of process equipment is sometimes impossible and often uneconomical. Enter field machining. Repair takes place on a piece of equipment without the need to strip it out and move it to a repair facility. This can lead to great time and cost savings. The repair workshop is taken to the client rather than the other way around.

TEAM’s field machining services enable cost-effective modification and repair of a variety of parts and equipment on site and in-place 24-hours a day. Ideal for new construction projects, modifications, planned shutdowns and emergency repairs, our comprehensive equipment has the capacity to mill, bore, trepan, drill or carry out any other machining activity normally associated with a machining workshop.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to field machining. Our highly-trained team is dedicated to formulating a repair procedure that minimizes downtime and ensures quality repair.

TEAM provides in-situ machining services to clients with the same accuracy and reliability as shop machining with no compromise to safety or quality whilst improving efficiency and cost. Our standard capabilities include:

  • Self Leveling Machines
  • Laser Tracking
  • Flange Facing
  • Milling
  • Line Boring
  • Shaft (Journal) Turning
  • Drilling and Tapping
  • Pipe Cutting and Beveling (Weld-Prep)
  • SILK Machining Equipment OEM

Reverse Engineer Large-Scale Assets with Extreme Accuracy and Dimensional Integrity

Ideally suited forlarge equipment measurements, laser trackers are portable contact coordinate measurement machines that can be used indoors or outside. TEAM’s laser tracking services provide large-scale 3D measurement technology to our clients for building and/or adjusting equipment or products with dimensional integrity.

The equipment our technicians use are high-performance, high-value laser trackers, which allow users to maximize productivity and reduce inspection cycle times by up to 75%. They have the capability for real-time feedback of 3D spatial positioning which makes it ideal for alignment operations.

Through the use of software and the power of coordinate geometry, coordinate systems can be placed at any location and be represented in a multitude of outputs. In addition, the technology aligns with advanced software to fit measured points into numerous 3D entities such as planes, cylinders, spheres, cones, circles, and even 3D CAD data. Actual measurements (x, y, z coordinates) are then compared against nominal data provided from cad models or drawings.

Self Leveling Machines (SLM)

Self Leveling Machines (SLM) specializes in machining very large circular and irregular shaped surfaces on structural components. Our patented designs enable circular faces up to 150ft (45m) diameter and rectangular faces 38ft x 38ft (11.5m x 11.5m) to be precisely machined on-site in a single set up with our standard machines. However, there is virtually no size limit as the cutters are controlled by a scanning laser plane and are independent of any deflections which might occur in the portable machine frame. Our equipment is readily portable, and we cover the world for large size, on site machining.
