Chemical Processing |
Chemical Processing of metals is employed to clean, etch, anodize or otherwise alter the surface of the metal for inspection or other manufacturing purposes. Knowledge of the material being processed, the state in which the material is supplied and the desired result are all key to the successful outcome of chemical processing. Team Chemical Processing personnel are experienced and knowledgeable in a wide range of chemical processing methods. With tank capacities up to 6’ x 6’ x 7’, we can handle most components and quantities. If required, we can quickly and cost effectively have tanks manufactured to tailor to your specific needs. Let our team of professionals help with your chemical processing needs to ensure your desired results are obtained.

Cleaning and Cleanliness Testing |
Cleanliness is the key to achieving the designed performance for many manufactured components. When the remnants from manufacturing need to be removed prior to service, Team can process most metals to remove manufacturing contaminants, assuring no foreign object and/or substance affects the performance of the part. For critical applications we can perform Cleanliness Testing to assure contamination is below specified requirements.
|
Etch |
When a manufactured component requires that proper processing/manufacturing be verified, Team can employ Macro Etch, Pre-penetrant Etch or Swab Etch, as applicable. Macro Etch will reveal the overall structure of the materials to show grain structure, grain flow, or possible defects induced by processing. Pre-penetrant Etch will remove smeared material or other contaminants that may normally obstruct clear and accurate interpretation of Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI). Swab Etch can selectively reveal the same on a limited area of a part. With our wide array of approved processes we can properly and effectively etch a variety of metal parts.

Passivation |
Metal components may need Passivation to make them less susceptible to their environment when placed in service. We employ an array of processes to ensure the passive surface of the material performs as designed.
|
Stripping |
When a “coating” is to be removed from metal, we can ensure it is removed completely without causing damage to the parent metal. Whether it is to remove an improperly applied coating, to remove a serviced and degraded coating, or for other reasons, Chemical Stripping can be a very cost effective and controlled method of processing.

Titanium Blue-Etch Anodizing and Inspection |
To assure the integrity of critical titanium aerospace components, Blue-Etch Anodizing (BEA) inspection is employed to determine the correct grain structure without segregations, inclusions, machining defects or other manufacturing defects. If questionable areas exist, replications can be employed to obtain higher resolution of the questionable structure.
