Hot tapping provides a safe, reliable, and effective means to create a branch connection on ”live” piping and pressure vessels while they continue to remain in service. This eliminates lost revenue by avoiding often costly and inconvenient outages. Innovative Design Enables Insertion Under Flow Conditions
At TEAM, innovation never ends. Our patent pending SmartStop™ double block and bleed technology allows proven, high-integrity isolations to be made on critical assets safely and reliably.
Unlike conventional single barrier line stop systems, TEAM’s SmartStop™ system features a dual seal system allowing isolation integrity to be physically confirmed ahead of breaking any down-stream containment. An integral bleed port allows the interspace between the primary and secondary seals to be vented, proving seal integrity on setting the tool and demonstrate zero energy throughout the duration of the isolation. The use of self-energized seals eliminates the need for seal activation using complex hydraulics.

Line Stopping is a means of temporarily stopping flow in an operating pipe. Line Stopping can be used to isolate piping systems for repairs, alteration or relocations all without shutdown or loss of service to the end users.If used in conjunction with bypass lines, product flow can be continued around the isolated section of the one-way feed pipes under repair.

Line Stops that Exceed Conventional Limitations
High-temperature line stops allow for maintenance and repair of ultra-high pressure, high temperature piping systems without shutting down the line. These line stops are utilized on specialized applications when pressures and/or temperatures exceed normal limitations. Permanent high-temperature line stops are also available to provide isolation of a piping system without leaving line stop equipment on the line.
Inflatable Line Stops
Inflatable bag stops are another method of line isolation. This method is used when a pipe is out of round or inside surface conditions of the pipe prevent a standard line stop. It can also be used to back up a line stop. A smaller hot tap is made into a pipe and an inflatable bag is inserted into the pipe which stops the flow in the line.
