TEAM supports pipeline operators, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms, and general contractors with specialized pipeline services, from integrity assessment and inspection to welding and turnkey mechanical work. Services can be coordinated as part of a broader project scope or engaged individually to meet specific operational needs.
From post-ILI verification and fitness-for-purpose assessments to specialized in-service welding, NDT/NDE inspection, preheating, hot tapping and line stopping, bolting and field machining, TEAM helps clients plan work around asset condition, project requirements, and operating needs.
Post-in-line inspection (ILI) verification and fitness-for-purpose assessments help pipeline teams evaluate inspection findings and determine appropriate next steps. TEAM also provides conventional and advanced non-destructive examination/testing (NDE/NDT), including ultrasonic testing (UT) and radiographic testing (RT), to assess welds and pipeline components.
Inspection scope is developed around the asset, operating conditions, code standards, project specifications, and applicable acceptance criteria. NDE can also be coordinated with in-service welding and repair activities when required by the approved work scope.
Powered by inspection, detection, repair and heat treating services—we help ensure pipeline equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and extend asset life through advanced, digitally enabled services.
In-service welding is a specialized pipeline activity that requires application-specific engineering, planning, and execution. TEAM can coordinate NDE and preheating with the welding scope, then align related line intervention, bolting, or field machining as project requirements call for. Services may be planned together or requested individually.

Hot tapping and line stopping support pipeline connections, isolation, repair, and modification work. TEAM’s SmartStop® system provides a double-block-and-bleed isolation option for suitable applications. TEAM evaluates and plans each intervention for the specific line and operating conditions.
Explore Hot Tap and Line Intervention:
TEAM provides preheating for in-service pipeline welding when specified by the approved welding procedure and feasible under operating conditions. Because product flow can affect thermal control, we assess requirements for each scope. For pipeline work completed out of service, TEAM can provide post-weld heat treatment when required by the applicable procedure, material and project and code specifications.
Explore Weld Preheating and Post-Weld Heat Treatment:
TEAM provides bolting and field machining as standalone services or as part of a coordinated pipeline scope. Field machining, including cold cutting, can be used to cut pipelines after isolation and depressurization, with venting or draining completed as required by approved procedures. This mechanical method avoids flame-based cutting and can support a controlled work plan. On-site machining also supports repairs and modifications when shop work is impractical, while bolting services support planned assembly and maintenance.
Explore Controlled Bolting and Field Machining:
For operators managing leak and emissions programs, TEAM’s LDAR services include optical gas imaging and program support for inspection, repair tracking, and reporting. Scope is set according to the asset and applicable jurisdiction.

Early coordination helps align requirements across pipeline integrity, inspection, welding, heat treating, line intervention, bolting, and field machining before crews and equipment mobilize. TEAM works with operators, EPC contractors, and project teams to:
The result is a more coordinated path from inspection findings to next steps, supporting timely decisions and helping teams manage disruption to pipeline operations. TEAM’s Asset Integrity Management Services offer an end-to-end strategy for safeguarding the performance, reliability, and compliance of your most critical assets across every stage of their lifecycle.

Find answers to common questions about pipeline inspection and repair, including NDT/NDE methods, weld inspection, live pipeline work, hot tapping, and line stopping. The right approach depends on asset condition, project requirements, and approved procedures.
Depending on the weld, material, access, procedure, and project specification, pipeline weld inspection may use ultrasonic testing methods such as AUT, PAUT, or TOFD, or radiographic testing. The required method and acceptance criteria should be confirmed for the project.
Repairs and modifications can be performed on operating pipeline systems using services such as hot tapping and line stopping. Suitability depends on the asset condition, operating parameters, engineering review, and approved work procedure.
Consider the project specification, required examination coverage, weld and material characteristics, access, production schedule, reporting needs, and acceptance criteria. A technical review can help determine which methods are appropriate.
Early involvement gives the project team more time to define scope, review technical requirements, plan access, and coordinate inspection with follow-up work. This is especially useful for large construction projects, tie-ins, and planned maintenance.
Extensive procedure qualifications, combined with careful consideration of pipeline operating conditions and physical properties, together with an engineered welding analysis, mitigate the risk associated with live pipeline welding.
TEAM’s wide selection of industrial services for effective pipeline inspection and repair benefits our customers as follows:
The flexibility of TEAM’s service offering means we can field a tailor-made solution to meet our client’s needs, from single service lines to multiple integrated service lines
Hot tapping is a method of adding a branch connection to a live, pressurized pipeline without shutting down the system. It can be used for pipeline tie-ins, modifications, or installing inline instruments. The hot tap can also provide access for a line stop. The method and procedure are determined for the specific asset and operating conditions.
Line stopping temporarily isolates a section of an operating pipeline so repairs or modifications can proceed. A bypass can maintain flow around the isolated section, helping the system remain in service during the work. Line stopping typically uses a hot tap to create access for the isolation equipment; suitability depends on the pipeline and approved work procedure.
